Government Regulation on Fishing (1360/2015).

This Regulation, which implements provisions of the Fishing Act 2015, introduces some measures to protect the fish resources both in inland and marine waters. Some provisions are specific to migratory fish. The Regulation specifies fish species that are protected, either geographically or in certain periods during the year. It also specifies (minimum) size for certain species. Regional catch measures decided by the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, based on section 57 of the Act may not exceed more than 20 per cent the fish protection measures regarding size. As for migratory species, waters for such fish are defined and conservation measures are introduced (regarding seasons, gear, size and geographical restrictions). The Regulations also provide with respect to training of fishery inspectors.
