Order relative to the entry into force of the United Nations Law of the Sea Convention, the Agreement carrying into effect Part XI of the Convention, and the Act concerning Approval of Certain Provisions of the Convention and the Agreement.

The Law of the Sea Convention and the Agreement carrying into effect Part XI of the Convention have been ratified by the President of Finland on 20 June 1996. On the occasion of depositing the ratification instrument, Finland issues a declaration with respect to article 35 point (c) of the Convention in relation with Æland, with respect to article 287 of the Convention relating to the International Court and International Maritime tribunal as competent forum and with respect to certain powers transferred to the European Communities. The detailed declaration regarding those powers shall take place in accordance of Annex IX of the Convention.
