Abstract
The purpose of the present Act is to prevent harm and inconvenience caused by the use of motor vehicles to nature or the environment, natural industries, general recreational use, or any other public or private interest, as well as to promote traffic safety. The Act applies to the use of motor vehicles in terrain and on snowmobile trails. It does not apply to aircraft, ships, or boats. It is prohibited to travel, stop, or park motor vehicles on terrain land areas without the permission of the landowner or land occupant, with the exceptions stipulated in Article 4. The Act consists of 38 Articles organized in the following chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Prevention of harm and inconvenience from off-road traffic; 3. Snowmobile trails; 4. Penalty provisions; and 5. Special provisions.
