Abstract
The Climate Action Trust Fund Act 2017 establishes a Trust Fund to finance activities projects programs that relate to climate action and the Paris Agreement and for related matters.
This Act is divided into 4 Parts where Part 1 outlines the Short title and Interpretation of the Act. Part 2, establishes the Climate Action Trust Fund its purposes and application. Part 3, outlines the Management and financial provisions where the accounts must be audited annually by an independent auditor and the preparation of an annual report. The income of the Trust Find is exempted from income tax. Part 4, section 9A stipulates if the fund is dissolved the surplus of the Fund must be utilized for climate change programs, projects, activities in the Pacific region.
