Declaration of biosecurity emergency areas for Giant Invasive Iguana/Green Iguana (Iguana iguana) (L.N. No. 18 of 2024).

The Minister declares the Savusavu area and the whole islands of Qamea, Matagi, Taveuni, Laucala, Viubani and other surrounding islets as biosecurity emergency areas for Giant Invasive Iguana/Green Iguana (Iguana iguana). This Declaration prohibits any movement of all stages of the Giant Invasive Iguana/Green Iguana (Iguana iguana) including eggs within, into and out of the declared biosecurity emergency areas. It lays down penalties for any person who contravenes any direction made pursuant to this Declaration in accordance with Schedule 5 to the Biosecurity Act 2008.
