iTaukei Affairs Amendment Decree 2012 / Dec No. 22 of 2012

The Decree amends the iTaukei Affairs Act Cap 120 (principal Act) by deleting the word ‘Council’ and its definition under section 2. Part 2 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the title ‘PART 2 - GREAT COUNCIL OF CHIEFS AND iTAUKEI AFFAIRS BOARD’ and substituting ‘PART 2 - iTAUKEI AFFAIRS BOARD’. Section 3 is deleted whilst section 4 is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting ‘There shall be a Board called the iTaukei Affairs Board which shall consist of such appointed and elected persons as the Minister may by Regulations prescribe’. Also, ‘and to refer such questions to the Council’ under section 4(4) is deleted. Section 5 is amended by deleting ‘Council and ‘of the’. Lastly, section 11 is amended by deleting subsections (2) to (6).
