Abstract
This Act inserts the definition of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission and makes amendments in the principal Act regarding the transfer of the licensing authority from the Fiji Medicinal Products Board to the Commission. The Act inserts Section 40A regarding the establishment of the PPP Scheme, allowing approved general practitioners and dentists to store and distribute medicinal products or devices under certain circumstances. It amends Article 51 of the principal Act regarding the prosecutions for offenses under the principal Act or regulations to be only instituted with the sanction of the Board, except in relation to section 35. Additionally, it inserts Section 60 to the principal Act regarding the obligation of the persons licensed under section 35 on or before the commencement of this Act to apply for a new license before the expiry of their existing one.
