Water Authority of Fiji 5 Year Strategic Plan 2020-2025.

5 Year Strategic Plan of Water Authority of Fiji is a national policy covering the period between August 2020 and July 2025. The main purpose of this policy is to provide clean water and sanitation to all Fijians for a better life.
This 5-year strategic plan is in line with the national goals set in the Fijian Government’s 20- year National Development Plan, the rights of Fijians captured in the 2013 Fijian Constitution and global initiatives towards ensuring access to clean water and proper sanitation. This policy focuses on getting the most out of our existing assets and building an organisational culture capable of delivering world-class services to all Fijians. This policy underlines the importance of the accessibility of clean water and wastewater services, and its vital role with regards to socio-economic development, energy and food production, and healthier ecosystems. Furthermore, this policy stresses on increasing the resilience of water infrastructure and services to the impacts of climate change. Water and wastewater services will be improved through resilience, innovation, safe working practices, stakeholder participation, capacity building, environmentally sound approach and modernization.
The primary responsibility of the Water Authority of Fiji to provide water and wastewater services to all Fijians progressively. The three key strategic imperatives for the Water Authority of Fiji are water and wastewater, accountability and finance, with the aim of ensuring the development of climate-resilient infrastructure, compliance with environmental standards, the supply of services during a global pandemic, and developing an organisational culture capable of delivering efficient and effective services and the ability to meet the future demands of all Fijians. The delivery of water and wastewater services will be improved through innovation and technology as well as progressive catchment management activities.
