Chapter 1 of Title 22 of the Chuuk State Code - Chuuk State Environmental Protection Act.

This Act declares the Government policy of the Chuuk State in respect of the environment, provides for the creation of the Chuuk State Environmental Protection Agency and specifies measures for the protection of the environment in Chuuk State.
The Agency shall have the powers and duty to control and prohibit pollution of land, air and water including regulation-making powers. The Act further requires a person to submit an environmental impact statement to the Agency, in accordance with Regulations established by the Agency, prior to taking any major action which may substantially affect the quality of the environment and prescribes penalties for offences committed under this Act or Regulations made under it.
