Abstract
This Act makes provision for the protection of consumer interests in the Federated States of Micronesia and for this purpose defines prohibited acts, provides for class actions and other civil legal action and measures that can be taken by public authorities against offenders and prescribes penalties for offences committed under this Act.
Unlawful acts or practices include: using deceptive representations or designations of geographic origin in connection with goods or services, representing that goods or services are of a particular standard, quality, or grade, or that goods are of a particular style or model, if they are of another and misleading or false advertisement.
