Chapter 1 of Title 43 of the Pohnpei State Code - Land Acquisition.

This Chapter provides rules relative to the acquisition of real property under the laws of the state of Pohnpei for use in any project or programme of the Pohnpei Government, local government or state agencies.
The Chapter sets out certain requirements the Government shall observe in acquiring real property and the procedures for such acquisition. For example, the Government will, to the greatest extent practicable, make every reasonable effort to acquire real property expeditiously through negotiation and shall give at least 90 days notice of leave to occupants. The Government will pay a fair market value for real property and improvements and shall acquire also remnant parts of property if beneficial to the owner.
