Abstract
This Act redefines requirements for the registration of vessels as originally set out in Chapter 4 of Title 19 of the Code of the Federated States of Micronesia. Registration may only be applied for by Qualified Persons as defined by this Act and if the vessels meets the requirements as set out in this Act.
The Act further: (a) provides that the Registrar shall require the production of satisfactory documentary evidence regarding requirements for registration; provides that ownership of any share of a vessel by a person who is not a Qualified Person shall constitute cause for removal of the vessel from the register and forfeiture to the National Government; and (c) prescribes a penalty for the offence of false representation of facts regarding qualifying as a Qualified Person.

An Act to further amend title 19 of the Code of the Federated States of Micronesia, as amended, by amending section 302, as amended by Public Law No. 10-137, to eliminate the requirement that a vessel must begin and end the majority of its voyages in the Federated States of Micronesia in order to be registered in the Federated States of Micronesia, and for other purposes.
