Order relative to the treatment of materials or articles entering or intended to enter into contact with food, beverages and food products by means of radiations.

Any manufacturer or importer of such materials must submit an application for authorization to manufacture or import the materials or articles in question. A registration number covering all materials and articles which comply with Articles 1, 3 and 5 is issued by the authorities. A firm wishing to carry out ionizing radiation treatment on pre-packaged foods must ensure that the material/article in question bears the identification and registration numbers.
