Abstract
These Regulations are organised in 6 Parts and extend to the United Kingdom and the Bailiwick of Guernsey, the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Isle of Man. They come into force immediately before IP completion day within the meaning of section 39(1) of the EU (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020(1).
Part 2 concerns fishing for profit and authorisation and establishes a general ban on fishing for profit to British vessel in the Convention Area except those vessels that have obtained an authorization issued by the Secretary of State. The Secretary must not grant authorization unless it is satisfied that a licence has been issued by the relevant fisheries administration and must notify the Commission, in accordance with the relevant conservation measures of any British vessel which intends to fish for profit in the Convention Area.
Part 3 regulates criminal offences such as fishing without an authorisation and other offences.
Part 5 and 6 lay down the discipline for Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources Inspectors and Observers.
