Abstract
This Order, made under the Animal Health Act 1981, provides for the extension of the definition of disease in the Animal Health Act 1981 to include anthrax. It, among other things: requires notification of suspected disease; provides for precautions to be taken pending the completion of a veterinary inquiry; provides for carrying out of a veterinary inquiry as to the existence of the disease; and provides for declaration of an infected place, the power to prohibit or control movement of animals and the disposal of carcases.
