Abstract
These Regulations implement Community legislation relative to the assessment and management of environmental noise.
They require the National Assembly for Wales and airport operators to make strategic noise maps in accordance with noise indicators and supplementary noise indicators specified by these Regulations. The Regulations also require the National Assembly for Wales and airport operators to draw up action plans and require public authorities to treat action plans as policy insofar as the action plan identifies them as being responsible for a particular action. The Regulations require competent authorities in Wales to cooperate with their counterparts in Northern Ireland, Scotland and England when necessary to do so in order to meet obligations under these Regulations or the Directive.
