Abstract
These Regulations for Northern Ireland supplement, and make provision for the enforcement of, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/262 (“EU Regulation”). They provide for the identification of horses. They contain provisions which set out various administrative and procedural requirements. In particular, they designate the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs as the competent authority for the purposes of the Commission Implementing Regulation. Other provisions set out various requirements in relation to the identification of equines and the identification document in relation to an equine. The Regulations also provide for enforcement and penalties, and give powers to authorised officers appointed by the Department.
