Abstract
The Scheme provides for the making of grants by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in respect of decommissioning of fishing vessels registered in the United Kingdom. Applications for grant will be considered in respect of vessels meeting the requirements set out in paragraph 3 of the Scheme. Paragraphs 4 to 6 of the Scheme lay down the procedure for the making and approval of applications. Applications must be in respect of one vessel only and include a bid by the applicant for the amount of grant for which he offers the decommissioning and the deregistration of the vessel and the surrender of all licences and all claims to licences. The Minister may determine a date before which the applicant must proof that decommmissioning, deregistration and surrender of licences has taken place in order to make the grant payable.
