Abstract
These Regulations provide for funding being made available by the Forestry Commissioners from the Scotland Rural Development Programme for purposes related to forestry. The Regulations set out the purposes of projects for which assistance may be made available, regulate the procedures of application for and granting of funds, and provide power to the Forestry Commissioners to issue guidance on such matters.
The projects that are eligible relate to sustainable use of forestry land and diversification of the rural economy as defined by Council Regulation (EC) No. 1698/2005 on support for rural development from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and Commission Regulations (EC) Nos. 1974/2006 and 1975/2006 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1698/2005.
