Abstract
These Regulations implement Council Directives and Commission Directives specified. They apply to fresh meat for human consumption obtained from bovine animals, swine, sheep, goats, and solipeds (reg. 2). The Regulations prohibit the importation of fresh meat into Great Britain except in accordance with provisions of the Regulations and provide for the importation of treatment of samples and their packaging. Regulation 9 regulates the importation of meat originating in a third country. The Regulations also set out requirements for certificates and documents needed for the purposes of the Regulations and make provision for offences and penalties. (14 regulations and 5 Schedules)
