Abstract
The Act contains the discipline of hill farming; several provisions in the first chapter have been repealed, however it is possible to find yet provisions on rehabilitation of Hill Farming Land such as grants schemes and application of capital for improvements to settled hill farming land. The Act also recognizes that improvements of hill farming land subject to rights of common.
Furthermore the Act contains provisions concerning control of Rams (England and Wales) and penalties for offences; burning of Heather and Grass (for England and Wales) giving to the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries the power to regulate heather and grass burning in England and Wales; and Muirburn regulation in Scotland.

An Act to make provision for promoting the rehabilitation of hill farming land; for the payment of subsidies in respect of hill sheep and hill cattle; for controlling the keeping of rams and ram lambs; for regulating the burning of heather and grass; for amending the law as to the valuation of sheep stocks in Scotland; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.
