Abstract
These Regulations prohibit the fishing for scallops in Northern Ireland inshore waters (a) during the period commencing at 9 p.m. on each weekday other than Saturday and ending at 5 a.m. on the next following weekday; and (b) during the period commencing at 5 a.m. on each Saturday and ending at 5 a.m. on the next following Monday. They only apply to fishing by a British fisherman or from a British fishing boat. A person who commits an offence under section 124 of the 1966 Act, shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale (£5,000). "Northern Ireland inshore waters" means waters within British fishery limits which are adjacent to Northern Ireland and are not nearer to any point on the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea adjacent to Great Britain or the Isle of Man is measured than to any point on the corresponding Northern Irish baselines.
