Abstract
These Regulations implement in part as respects Great Britain provisions of Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom and impose duties on employers to protect employees and other persons against ionising radiation arising from work with radioactive substances and other sources of ionising radiation. The Regulations also impose certain duties on employees.
The Regulations are divided into seven Parts: Part 1 contains interpretations and general provisions. Part 2 prohibits the carrying out of specified practices without the authorization of the Health and Safety Executive or other authority and imposes certain obligations on employers. Part 3 concerns arrangements for the management of radiation protection.
