Landfill Allowances Scheme (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2004 (S.R. No. 416 of 2004).

These Regulations make provision for implementing Part 1 of the Waste and Emissions Trading Act 2003 on waste sent to landfills and Articles 5(1) and (2) of Council Directive 99/31/EC on the landfill of waste in Northern Ireland. They also concern the landfill allowances scheme under Part 1 of the Act. The Regulations provide for, among other things: borrowing and transfer of landfill allowances, monitoring of the landfill allowances scheme, registration of landfill allowances and record-keeping by district councils and landfill operators.
