Abstract
These Regulations amend the Landfill Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 by replacing the existing waste acceptance criteria and waste acceptance procedures in the principal Regulations with those contained in Council Decision 2003/33/EC establishing criteria and procedures for the acceptance of waste at landfills pursuant to Article 16, of and Annex II, to Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste. The Decision supplements the requirements of the Directive by specifying detailed criteria and procedures for acceptance of waste for each class of landfill. Some minor amendments to the Schedules of the principal Regulations concern minimum monitoring procedures for landfills and amendments and transitional provisions.
