Abstract
These Regulations provide for the implementation of Community legislation on support measures for less favoured area and part of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme as approved by the EU Commission. They, among other things, The Regulations define the conditions of eligibility for less favoured area compensatory allowances and the rates at which it is to be paid. The Regulations also confer powers of entry and inspection on persons authorized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and grant the Department powers to withhold or recover payments and take certain other action in the event of a breach of an undertaking given by a beneficiary under these Regulations and in certain other circumstances.
