Marine Strategy Regulations 2010 (S.I. No. 1627 of 2010).

These Regulations impose a general duty on the Secretary of State, Scottish Ministers, the Welsh Ministers and certain government departments in Northern Ireland to exercise their functions to secure compliance with Directive 2008/56/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of marine environmental policy. They, among other things, impose a duty on the Secretary of State to develop a marine strategy and require public authorities, as well as Ministers, to have regard to the marine strategy in exercising their functions. They also provide for public participation.
