Regulation
Abstract
The Regulations continue to implement Council Directive 2008/90/EC on the marketing of fruit plant propagating material and fruit plants intended for fruit production and implement other EU legislation on fruit plant material. They make provision for control of the marketing of fruit plants and fruit plant material. The fruit plants and propagating material to which the Regulations apply is set out in regulation 4 and Schedule 3. In order to be marketed, plant material must comply with requirements set out for certification (Schedule 5) and packaging, sealing and labelling (Schedule 2). The Regulations require the registration of suppliers and a register of suppliers. Suppliers are required to monitor the production of plant material and keep records. Provision is also made for the enforcement of these Regulations.
