Offshore Combustion Installations (Pollution Prevention and Control) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 971 of 2013).

These Regulations, composed of 19 articles and two Schedules, establish the pollution control regime for the purpose of carrying into effect obligations of the Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions insofar as those obligations apply to offshore combustion installations. In particular, the Regulations deal with the need for a permit in order to operate an offshore combustion installation covered by the Regulations. The Regulations establish procedures for granting permits, the publication of the grant of a permit and also the making of provisions for the variation, reconsideration and updating of permit conditions and provisions for the revocation, surrender and assignment of permits. The Secretary of State is required to maintain a public register of the provisions of permits and of certain information required to publish applications for a permit. The Regulations also provide for, among other things, enforcement and prohibition notices, transboundary effects, environmental plans and inspections, notification by operators and offences and penalties.
