Abstract
This Order consolidates in Northern Ireland the law relating to planning and related matters including matters of environment protection and mining operations. It contains provisions concerning, among other things, examination of development plans, principles underlying a development plan, conservation areas, deposit of refuse or waste material on land, establishment and procedures of the Planning Appeals Commission, application to Crown land and enforcement in relation to the Crown, preservation of trees in conservation areas, mineral planning permissions and the power to impose aftercare conditions on the grant of mineral planning permission, presence of hazardous substances and compulsory acquisition of land for planning purposes.
