Type of law
Regulation
Abstract
These Regulations provide rules for private water supply services in Northern Ireland other than those provided by a water undertaker or a licensed water supplier and provide for control on supply by private suppliers by Department of the Environment. They make it an offence to breach a notice served by the Department of the Environment regarding a private supply of water intended for human consumption which constitutes a potential danger to human health. The Department of the Environment shall carry out a risk assessment of the private water supply, monitor the supply and keep records. The Regulations set out procedures if the private water supply is not wholesome.
