Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2016 (S.I. No. 241 of 2016).

These Regulations amend the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 and the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 so as to impose (in relation to Great Britain and in relation to Northern Ireland) on producers and schemes the obligation to recover and recycle packaging waste in order to attain the recovery and recycling targets set out in Article 6(1) of Council Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste. Competent authorities for the approval of a scheme are appointed for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and conditions of approval of a scheme are defined. Other provisions concern registration of Schemes.
