Abstract
The Regulations implement for Scotland Community legislation on veterinary checks on products entering the Community from third countries.
The products to which the Regulations apply (defined in regulation 2) must comply with the requirements listed, by reference to the relevant Community legislation, in Schedule 1.
The Regulations, among other things: (a) define the authorities that enforce the Regulations and provide for measures of enforcement; (b) establish the inspection system that will apply to products in general; (c) lay down special provisions that apply to particular categories of product; and (d) specify import conditions for different categories of products. Products to which these Regulations apply include fish and fish products, meat of livestock animals, game meat, genetic material, and milk and dairy products.
