Sheep and Goats (Identification and Traceability) (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (S.S.I. No. 73 of 2006).

These Regulations make provision for the administration and enforcement of Council Regulation (EC) No. 21/2004 establishing a system for the identification and registration of ovine and caprine animals and amending Regulation (EC) No. 1782/2003 and Directives 92/102/EEC and 64/432/EEC. It lays down rules relative to procedures for the identification of animals, defines requirements for traceability systems in markets, provides for the approval of eartags by the Scottish Ministers and grants powers to an inspector to restrict or prohibit the movement of animals for enforcement purposes.
