Abstract
This Order makes provision for the identification and registration of ovine and caprine animals by keepers of such animals and related matters. It implements for Scotland Council Regulation (EC) No. 21/2004. The Order, among other things, provides for the manner of identification, the removal or replacement of identification marks on animals, requires every keeper of animals to keep an up-to-date holding register and an annual inventory, requires a movement document to accompany every animal when it moves between holdings, provides for traceability systems at a market; and provides for the approval by the Scottish Ministers of identification devices.
