Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 1711 of 2007).
Type of law
Regulation
Abstract
These Regulations enforce Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on shipments of waste and designate the competent authorities for the purposes of the Community Regulation. The Regulations also require the Secretary of State to implement a waste management plan on movement of waste from or to the United Kingdom and require competent authorities at dispatch and destination to object to shipments of waste that do not comply with that plan. The Regulations further, among other things, create offences, amend the Environment Act 1995 in relation with fees and provide with respect to enforcement powers of competent authorities.
