Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 (S.I. 1623 of 2015).

These Regulations amend the Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2003. They transpose aspects of Directive 2013//39/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directives 2000/60/EC and 2008/105/EC as regards priority substances in the field of water policy. Amendments concern, among other things: administration; monitoring; environmental objectives and programmes of measures; river basin management plans; enactments in relation to which general duties of administration apply. They also add two new regulations on a preliminary programme of measures for each river basin district in relation to specified substances; and coordination at European level in case that additional measures at European Union or member State level may be necessary in order to facilitate compliance with the Directive.
