Water Supply Regulations 2010 (S.I. No. 991 of 2010).

These Regulations implement aspects of Council Directive 98/83/EC on the quality of water intended for human consumption by amending the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 and the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2009. The amendments concern, among other things, the service of a notice on the relevant supplier in case of failure attributable to domestic distribution system where water is supplied to the public and notification of remedial action to consumers, authorization of temporary supply of water that is not wholesome, guarantee that disinfection by-products are kept as low as possible without compromising disinfection and annual sampling.
