Abstract
The Act gives effect to the Geneva Whaling Convention of 1931. The Act applies only in relation of whalebone whales and baleen whales (sect. 1). Sections 4, 5 and 6 provide for licencing of whaling ships and whale-oil factories and conditions attached to a licence. (19 sections, 1 Schedule)

An Act to enable effect to be given to a Convention for the regulation of Whaling, signed at Geneva on behalf of His Majesty on the twenty-fourth day of September, nineteen hundred and thirty-one; to prohibit the taking or treating of whales within coastal waters of the United kingdom; and for purposes conncetd with the matters aforesaid.
