Abstract
These Regulations give effect, in part, to Council Directive 92/45/EC on public health and animal health problems relating to killing of wild game and the placing on the market of wild game meat. These Regulations require all wild game processing facilities which consign, or sell for consignment, wild game meat to another EEA State to be licensed by the Minister. There will be veterinary supervision of all licensed premises. The 20 regulations are divided into 5 Parts: Preliminary (I); Licensing of wild Game Processing Facilities (II); Supervision and Control of Premises (III); Conditions for the Marketing of Wild Game Meat (IV); Administration, Penalties and Enforcement (V). Completed by 13 Schedules relative to requirements for processing facilities, hygiene requirements in respect of preparation, inspection post-mortem, marking and packing, transport, health certificates, and the Meat Hygiene Appeals Tribunal.
