Abstract
If, save as permitted by this Act, any person mutilates, kicks, beats, nails or otherwise impales, stabs, burns, stones, crushes, drowns, drags or asphyxiates any wild animal with intent to inflict unnecessary suffering he shall be guilty of an offence. Killing a wild animal as an act of mercy or killing it in a reasonably swift and humane manner in the course of either lawful shooting, hunting, coursing or pest control activity or an act otherwise permitted by section 2, shall be considered an exception from an offence under this Act.
