Abstract
This Act appoints the Windward Islands Banana Growers Association as the Banana (Protection and Quality Control) Authority and provides rules with respect to boxing and placing on the market of bananas. The Authority shall: (a) administer and carry out the provisions of this Act; (b) institute and approve standards and other measures to protect and maintain the quality of exportable bananas; (c) make recommendations to the Governments of Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Grenada, concerning the carrying out of the provisions of this Act and the introduction and implementation of such standards and other measures. Exportable bananas shall be grown, harvested, processed, packed, handled, and transported in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
