Abstract
These Rules, made under section 26 of the Deeds and Land Registry Act, concerns the understanding by a party appearing before the Registrar of the High Court or before a Magistrate that acknowledgement of an instrument is his or her free and voluntary act. The Rules also define the duties of the Registrar of the High Court or Magistrate to promote understanding of the nature and effect of the instrument by the party and prescribe the form of the acknowledgement.
