Action Plan for 2016-2018 for Implementation of Adjara Gender Equality Policy

The Action Plan for 2016-2018 for Implementation of Adjara Gender Equality Policy is a regional cross-sectoral action plan of Georgia’ Adjara region. Its main objectives are strengthening the Gender Equality Council of the Adjara High Council; strengthening coordination with the government of Adjara; introducing the concept of gender analysis in the legislative process and on the local levels; introducing gender aspects into the budget of Adjara; promoting the participation of women in the election of the High Council of Adjara; increasing the number women in the executive branch of the government of Adjara, formation of the government on the basis of gender balance; raising the awareness of the youth about gender equality; re-training of staff members of a variety of government agencies; raising the awareness of the public about gender equality; raising the education and awareness about violence; and eliminating domestic abuse and protecting the victims of violence.
