Abstract
The Gender Equality Action Plan for 2011-2013 is a national cross-sectoral action plan of Georgia. Its main objectives are strengthening the institution of the Gender Equality Council; taking into consideration the gender aspects in the main education-related laws; raising awareness about gender issues; promoting gender analysis in budgeting on every level of governance; ensuring gender equality in economy and employment; strengthening economic potential of women; improving gender-related statistics; improving the Georgian legislation for better gender equality measures; promoting equal participation of men and women in the political life; broad participation of women in the peace process; analysis of social protection legislation; and raising awareness of women in environmental protection matters.
