Abstract
The Georgia’s Demographic Security Concept is a national cross-sectoral concept. Its main objectives are to stop the expected depopulation in the country; to stabilize the number of population by rationalization of migration; and to develop a unified conceptual approach to overcome the challenges of the recent and expected population changes, and to use the opportunities, which will enable the existing and possible risks of the national security. Among others, the document provides for sustainable development of the society; protection of human rights and dignity; gender and age equality and equity; increasing the assistance for children and taking measures to participate in the expenses associated with raising children; supporting family members to balance work and family responsibilities; ensuring child welfare; creating development centers in the regions; creating sustainable jobs in the regions; creating conditions for a successful socio-economic integration of the internally displaced persons and environmental migrants; adequate response of the labour market to the structural changes in the population; and protecting the income and adequate social protection.
