Government Decree No. 334 on the Approval of the Technical Regulation on Conditions for the Discharge of Urban and Industrial Wastewater into Surface Water Bodies.

This Regulation establishes the conditions for the discharge of urban and industrial wastewater into surface water bodies. It sets requirements for the collection, treatment and discharge of urban wastewater, regulates the establishment of maximum permissible discharge standards for pollutants, and provides for the protection of surface waters through the application of wastewater treatment, discharge control and self-monitoring obligations. The Regulation applies to both existing and planned activities and includes provisions relating to sensitive and less sensitive receiving waters, wastewater treatment facilities, and wastewater discharge permits.
It lays down requirements for sewerage systems and wastewater treatment according to the size of agglomerations and the characteristics of receiving water bodies, including additional treatment requirements for discharges into sensitive areas. It establishes rules governing industrial wastewater discharges, including the determination of maximum permissible discharges and pollutant concentrations, monitoring and reporting requirements, and methodologies for calculating discharge limits into rivers, reservoirs and lakes. The Regulation also specifies the content of discharge standard projects, monitoring procedures, technical standards for effluent quality, and related documentation to be submitted for approval.
