Abstract
The Government of Georgia is the highest body of the executive power, which implements the domestic and foreign policy of the country. The Government is accountable and responsible to the Parliament of Georgia. A member of the Government has no right to hold a position other than a party position, to engage in entrepreneurial activities, to receive remuneration for other activities, except for scientific and pedagogical activities. The authority of the Government in the field of executive power is determined by the Constitution of Georgia, this law, other legislative acts and normative acts of the government. The Government, in exercising its powers, is guided by the government program. The Government, inter alia, performs the following functions: (a) coordinates and controls the activities of ministries; (b) ensures the unity of the country's economic space, freedom of economic activity, establishment of a competitive and stable investment environment; (c) manages state property; (d) provides social protection of citizens; (e) develops state programs for reducing and eliminating unemployment and ensures their implementation; (f) protection of the environment and natural resources, ensuring ecological safety of the population; and (g) protection and rational use of natural resources.
