Abstract
The National Action Plan for the Conservation of Leopard (Pantera pardus, L.) in Georgia (2010 – 2014) is a national sectoral action plan of Georgia. Its main goal is to secure leopard and its prey species viable population and ensure its habitat conservation and sustainable use, as well as elaborating effective mechanisms for coexistence of leopard and local population in the country. Among others, it provides to increase viability of leopard and its prey species populations; implement research and monitoring programs for leopard and its prey species in the protected areas of Georgia; increase efficiency of protected area systems for better leopard conservation; implement public awareness campaigns and environmental education programs, as well as receive support from local people in leopard and wildlife conservation; and increase cooperation in leopard conservation at international and regional level.
