Abstract
This Order regulates protective cutting of forests. It consists of eleven chapters: General provisions (I); Characteristics of protective cuts in groves of a variety of function, composition, form, age structure and timber types (II); Methods of protective cuts and selection of trees that need to be cut (III); Protective cuts in a grove (IV); Requirements imposed on protective cuts (V); Technics of protective cuts (VI); Planning protective cuts (VII); Assigning areas for protective cuts (VIII); Clearing out cut timber (IX); Control of conducting and quality of protective cuts (X); and Liability regarding protective cuts (XI). The purposes of protective cutting include protecting soil and water, improving sanitary-hygiene and other beneficial characteristics; improving the species and structure of groves; and increasing use of timber in a unit of surface area.
